Before you start.

Is a prototype the same as a production-ready product?

No. A prototype is primarily built to validate function and engineering assumptions. Production versions usually require further optimization, documentation and manufacturing preparation.

Can you use development modules for the first prototype?

Yes, where appropriate. Off-the-shelf modules can accelerate early validation before moving to custom PCB or production hardware.

Can you redesign an existing prototype?

Yes. Existing prototypes can be reviewed and improved for function, size, integration or manufacturability.

Can you make multiple pilot units after the prototype works?
